‘Spanish 'Day of the Dead’ Spook-tacular!
Come and join Kim and her Spanish Superstars for an hour of spook inspired Spanish with various language activities and a creepy craft! Children will go home with an understanding of how Halloween and the Day of the Day are different. Fancy dress is positively encouraged!
Who should attend?
The event is a drop-off event aimed at primary aged children. There is no requirement for children to have learned any Spanish.
How long does the event last?
The event is from 16.00 - 17.00. Parents are asked to bring children to CasaLingua Language School no more than 5 minutes before the start of the session and to collect promptly at 17.00. The entrance is on Raglan Street and access is via the intercom (press casa1 and wait to be buzzed in)

What will I create?
On Saturday 14th November (13.00-16.00) under the supervision of tutor Carrie, you’ll craft a one-of-a-kind Christmas tree ornament to treasure or gift. Discover the art of metal embossing in this festive 3 hour workshop and be amazed at what you can create as a total beginner!

You’ll start with a practice piece to help you get comfortable with the tools and techniques. Then you’ll move on to your personal project. You can choose from our supplied designs or bring your own.
You will be shown you how to transfer your drawing onto metal, and bring it to life through embossing. Along the way, you will learn tips and more embossing techniques. Once your embossing is complete, we’ll add the finishing touches by aging the metal for a vintage look.
Great for all crafting levels, no experience needed.
Templates are provided, or feel free to bring your own design ideas. If you are bringing your own design, we’ll be working on a piece of metal of 15cm x 15cm, so a design a centimetre or two smaller than that will fit well.
A relaxing, creative atmosphere with step-by-step support and everyone will head home with something festive and unique.

What will I create?
If you are wanting to learn a new skill and get creative this Christmas, why not join Ruth at CasaLingua on Saturday 28th November at 10.00 and learn the art of willow weaving! In this beginner-friendly workshop, Ruth will pass on her expertise, guiding you through the various stages and helping you create your very own beautiful willow star. The star will be quite large (approximately 30cm across) and is designed to be hung up on a wall, possibly lit up with fairy lights. If you are a quick learner, you may have time to create an additional smaller 2D item such as a star wand, ring or reindeer!

All materials are provided and workshops are suitable for beginners. You should expect to be in this workshop for approximately 2 hours. Refreshments are provided so please let us know at the booking stage if you have any allergies or dietary requirements.
Who is Ruth?
Ruth is a freelance participatory creative, lead artist, workshop facilitator and project coordinator. She loves to engage with individuals, communities and organisations, improving mental wellbeing through willow weaving activities and participatory projects. Ruth loves passing on her skills to others and she is a welcome addition to the CasaLingua Creative programme of events!
Students, family and friends of CasaLingua are all invited to come and join Kim and the team on for a multilingual, pub quiz themed, festive knees up!
Pub snacks will be provided but please do ‘bring your own’ bottle or chosen tipple. The event will run from 19.30 - 21.30.

Egle returns to CasaLingua for the third time and this time she is helping us to create our own fresh Christmas table centrepiece! Expect something a little wild, wonderfully seasonal and full of natural charm — a centrepiece to bring warmth and candlelit magic to your Christmas table.

Working with an abundance of natural materials and seasonal foliage, you’ll create a unique centrepiece using sustainable floristry practices, celebrating the textures, colours and scents of the winter season. Your arrangement will be nestled in a natural container you’ll love, finished with two elegant beeswax taper candles for a touch of understated festive luxury.

No experience necessary. Beginners are very welcome, and all materials are provided.All materials are provided but feel free to bring along anything that you would like to incorporate into your design.
