We collect or use the following information when taking bookings for tuition, classes or training:

·      Names and contact details for students/children

·      Names and contact details for parents, guardians, carers

·      Dietary requirements (including vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, religious requirements)

·      Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) or additional support information (includes reasonable adjustments and special educational needs and disabilities)

·      Photograph consent.

·      Legitimate interests – we’re collecting or using your information because it benefits you, our organisation or someone else, without causing an undue risk of harm to anyone. All of your data protection rights may apply, except the right to portability. Our legitimate interests are:

·      Learners who contact us about classes, attend events or subscribe to resources may be interested in finding out about events, promotions or news that is relevant to their learning or areas of interest.

Where we get personal information from

·      Learners register with us directly; Parents or carers register their children with us directly; Educational establishments (such as nurseries or schools for whom we deliver sessions); Businesses (for whom we are delivering events, training or classes); 3rd parties pass on student information (with their consent) in order to provide them with one of our services.

How long we keep information

 While learners are registered with us and making use of our services, we keep a live database of their personal information.  Class registers are kept by course tutors and are essential documents in the event of an evacuation of the building when a lesson is taking place.  Where learners are no longer attending courses, data is kept for 3 years to allow us to pass on information regarding relevant future courses or opportunities.  Learners who sign up to receive our newsletters can opt out at any time.  

How to make a complaint

CasaLingua Ltd is registered with the ICO and Kim Davis is named as the data controller.  If you have any concerns about our use of your personal data, you can make a complaint to us using the contact details at the top of this privacy notice.

If you remain unhappy with how we’ve used your data after raising a complaint with us, you can also complain to the ICO.
