Run. Talk. Connect.

LinguaRun™

So what is LinguaRun?

Many of you know me well enough to know that when I get excited about an idea, it’s only a matter of time before I start talking about it. Over the past few weeks, it’s been almost impossible to keep this one to myself, especially as everything has started to come together. So today I’m finally sharing something I’ve been quietly building behind the scenes: LinguaRun.

I like to think that I’m a pretty honest and open individual and in my newsletters, I’ve always shared stories - professional and personal - so that you have an insight into the person behind the CasaLingua brand. Whether I’m in the classroom, out in the rain on a run, or spending time at Shotley & Benfieldside Tennis Club, those are the spaces where I thrive. A little while back, I started wondering how I could bring these passions together in a way that felt natural, inspiring, and community-focused. LinguaRun is the result.

The Big Picture

The idea might seem a bit niche at first (I can almost hear some of you thinking it!), but here’s the logic behind it: LinguaRun is an online and local community designed to encourage linguists, teachers, students, and runners to exercise their minds and bodies at the same time. I want to connect with likeminded people locally and nationally to spark positive energy around languages, wellbeing, movement, and even travel. Through the facebook page, we can start conversations about language and celebrate our runs. Why not join us?

Closer to home, I’m especially excited to launch LinguaRun Consett—a local running group that’s open to absolutely everyone. It follows the Run Together philosophy that all abilities are welcome. And because I am still me, you can expect plenty of talking during the runs! If you fancy chatting in Italian, Spanish, French, or English, I’m very happy to oblige.

I’d really appreciate your support—whether that’s sharing this with people who might enjoy it or joining in yourself. And if you’re nearby, please book onto our inaugural pre-Christmas LinguaRun on Tuesday 16th December at 19:30 starting from outside CasaLingua Language School. It would mean a lot to see familiar faces there but please spread the word and let people know that our runs are for everyone.

Here’s to combining passions, building community, and bringing a bit of language learning to the great outdoor!
