Why I'm bringing languages to your lunch break — and maybe your workplace!‍ ‍

It's a question I get asked all the time: "Kim, I'd love to learn a language, but where on earth do I find the time?" I feel your pain! As a busy mum, I totally understand that evenings are taken up with family, weekends disappear before you know it, and by the time work is done, who has the energy to think about verb conjugations?

So I started thinking — why not use the time that's already sitting there in everyone's diary? Lunch breaks! That's where the idea for Languages at Lunch came from, and I'm genuinely excited about it.

The idea behind it.

CasaLingua™ has always been about making language learning fit around real life, not the other way round. Languages at Lunch is exactly that. Instead of asking people who don't have any free time to magically find an hour in the evening, we want to bring a lesson to the time that you already have — your lunch hour.

We love to deliver face to face classes and if you're based in Consett, County Durham, or the surrounding area, we may even be able to come to your workplace. However, for companies who are further afield, a lunchtime online class can be just as engaging and way more practical! No commute. No evening commitment. Just a focused, enjoyable chunk of language learning right in the middle of the working day.  

How languages at lunch works

Whether you're based in Consett, Chester-le-Street, Stanley, or anywhere across County Durham, the idea is the same. Languages at lunch is designed to be simple, flexible, and built around you:

  • Online or in person - join from your desk or have one of our tutors come to you

  • Bite-sized and practical - fun lessons that fit comfortably into a lunch hour with no faffing about and plenty of fun!

  • A choice of languages - With a great tutor team, we can already offer French, Spanish, Italian, German and Mandarin but tell us if you have a specific need and we can look into it!

If there are a group of you, or even a whole team, wanting to learn together, we'll look into a day and time that works for you.  If that means a 11 am brunch or a more continental 2.30 break, so be it!
