Celebrating languages in Consett

Lots of schools hold special events and run competitions on September 26th in recognition of the ‘European Day of Languages’ and I always used to get involved when I was a school teacher. We made continental breakfasts, dressed up, offered taster lessons in unusual languages, organised Duolingo competitions, asked the children to greet each other in the corridors by saying ‘hello’ in their adopted languages and, of course, organised team quizzes. It was all about raising awareness of other languages, cultures and traditions and we always had so much fun!

This year, I have decided to celebrate the European day of Languages in my own way by opening up the doors of CasaLingua Language School and encouraging people to come in and find out more about what we do - as well as offering existing students the chance to come and have a coffee and a conversation with myself, a fellow learner or someone new. Its free to attend, it’s informal and unstructured - and there is no pressure or expectation to talk! .

Where: CasaLingua Language School, 2nd Floor, 26 Middle Street, Consett DH8 5QJ

When: Friday 26th September, 9.30 - 11.00

Although booking is not required, it would be helpful to have an idea of numbers. If you think you are free and would like to join me, click on the button below. I look forward to seeing you.
